 Master piano tuner Harry Horowitz (Dustin Hoffman) is losing his hearing, his apprentice Niki is pitch perfect and has incredibly sensitive hearing - together they are the best tuners in New York. Niki's skills attract the attention of a criminal group and he becomes involved in a lucrative, but illegal side trade.
